RUSTIC LUCAS VALLEY RANCH
LANDSCAPE DESIGN
A Landscape Design-Build Project in Marin, CA
Incorporating classic design elements and drought-tolerant plantings, we designed and built the front yard, back patio, and side yard of this property in the golden hills of Lucas Valley. The custom-designed stone and wood arbor, outdoor kitchen, flagstone patio, pool, and stone water feature blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
A Home In Lucas Valley, Marin, CA Gets A New Landscape Design
This project was a landscape design-build project by Gary Torney Landscaping.
The entire front and backyard were a blank slate. The owner wanted to capitalize on the beautiful view of the Lucas Valley hills surrounding the property, and this is where the design took its inspiration. Earth tones, wooden structures, and natural stone are featured throughout the landscape.
The owner desired an ideal outdoor space for entertaining friends and family. Our team designed and installed a brand new pool with a hot tub and retractable cover. The pool patio was constructed out of natural stone, specifically the rare ‘Arkins Park Colorado’ flagstone. A large wooden pergola with stone veneered columns was constructed by our skilled carpenters and masons to shade the dining area below.
Adjacent to the dining area and pergola, we installed a matching stone veneered bar with a sink and refrigerator. Our carpenters built a custom redwood fence with tapered posts and a detailed cap that surrounded the perimeter of the pool and lounge area. In the side yard, golden decomposed granite, flagstone steppers and drought tolerant plantings were incorporated for a peaceful sitting area that doubled as a bocce ball court. The front yard featured a natural river rock drainage system, drought tolerant and Mediterranean grasses and shrubs, and a custom stone water feature.
